About Orion Development/Tom Bartodziejtop
TOM BARTODZIEJ has been working with wood for over 30 years. Initially for his own home, friends, and family. As word of his work spread through recommendations, projects became more involved and specialized. Wine cellars as far as Sonoma, CA and Boston, MA: dining room tables in Washington, DC, stair cases on Long Island, and so on.I’ve made a commitment that, wherever possible, to use wood from downed trees from storms and so on rather than buying from lumberyards that harvest standing trees. It gives purpose to wood that would otherwise end up as firewood. It also provides natural “wild” edges instead of store bought straight edges. Click on my picture to view a 46 inch diameter oak log that will make some beautiful dining room tables. It fell in New Jersey in October 2011 during an unseasonable early snow storm. I’m sorry about the storm and the difficulties it caused, but am appreciative of the opportunity to create happiness for others from the chaos.

Tom has built many carpentry and wood working projects for us over the years. These include construction of new flooring, cherry kitchen cabinets, a magnificent open stairway, porch log railing, road side pillars, and even unique inlaid cutting boards.
Tom has a feel for wood. He has been a wood worker and cabinet maker for many years, and he has a full shop equipped with ever type of saw, planner and sander that one can imagine. His home is a further testimony to the quality and diversity of his creative imagination and genius. These include inlaid dining room table of rare polished woods, staircases, as well as all of the furnishings.
Tom is a perfectionist. His standards exceed that of his clients; they need to meet his own. Everything that I have witnessed him create has been perfect. His integrity is beyond reproach, and on several occasions I had to insist that his fees were too low.

Tom Bartodziej has completed several projects for our new home in Hobart, NY, and we are completely satisfied with his workmanship, integrity in doing business, timeliness, and pricing.
We first had Tom make a unique set of stairs and railings for a loft bedroom, using cherry and maple woods. It is at the center of our home, and always noticed and admired by our guests. then Tom made a beautiful chest and bookcase that also is an emergency exit ladder to a ceiling window in our loft bedroom.
When we needed an access to our basement from a small closet space, Tom build "half-step" stairs of solid ash wood that very cleverly provided access to a basement room, and that we also proudly shows visitors. To enhance our basement room, Tom then built ash wood bunk beds, with a ladder, that provide double and single beds.
Through the course of his work, tom has become a good friend and person we hightly regard. We would recommend Tom's work to anyone, and be glad to show his beautiful workmanship at our home.
